RoL could be very usefull with a low level Char when one use it with dual wielding.
BUT getting two(!!) of them at Lvl 40 or so is some kind of... impossible...
Since there is every once in a while the discussion of drop rate going on: IF there is a need for changing this what about limited duration for such an item?
No, I don't want a change, I am happy just collecting them, but using two RoL is funny after all...

I didn't actually get to level 400. I just did some snooping and have found that XP is stored as a 32-bit signed integer in the savegame file. So, 2 to the power of 31 is your max XP, the rest is just spread sheet math in excel to plot the rate of increase in amount of XP for each level up and extrapolate out up to the level that exceeds this amount - hence the cap is one lower. So yes, the moment you go past this, left most bit goes from 0 to 1 and the value is interpreted as a negative number.

Congrats Randerthall! It is great when that finally drops into your inventory, but man, that is the worst one to grind for. It's great using it too, just watching your HP fill up as you take down monsters.

When i got my Rol i jumped up and down out of happiness! My (now ex) girlfriend was a lil shocked... She think she never really understood how staggering a 1 : 10,0000 chance is.
back to topic. What do you actually think of the RoL as a weapon?
Obviously, it is an amazing piece of equipment in terms of life regeneration during combat. Absolutely no doubt about it.
However, I find it a little too weak to actually make a difference when it comes to fighting HP intense monsters, as for instance Maonits. As well as I find it too weak in terms of general damage (1-6) especially with regard to its drop chance.
Ultimately, I'm not using it but the the DoSP instead. With its high chance to land a critical hit that triples your max damage (in my case 183 atm), I simply kill so much faster than I would ever do with the RoL. Obviously this accounts only for non-crit-immune mobs, but still, during normal walks over the main map, this is what you usually encounter.
So, I'd like to propose an improved version (maybe connected to a quest?!). This version would include a critical hit chance, maybe around 25% chance to multiply your hit by a factor of 2,5, and increase the damage potential from 1-6 to 3-6, simply in order to make hits count.

My wife is the same 6 months of endless boring grinds pays off big time
Back to the topic, the ROL is good as is. No drawbacks except the 5 AP attack cost.
